OUR COMPANY History The first generation In the years around 1895 the brothers Joseph, Leopold and Josef-Marie Tenisch lived in Imfeld. They had a small workshop in a vacant residential house. Tenisch Leopold was a skilled carpenter. For the time being, they did carpentry in Imfeld during the winter time, while their main occupation was farming. They did various carpentry work in the schoolhouse in Binn and in the Hotel Ofenhorn.

The second generation Tenisch Leopold, son of Joseph did his apprenticeship with Theophil Imhof. He ran his first workshop in the "Mähnighaus" in Imfeld. In 1936 he built himself a small workshop in Binn, at the present location. In addition to the carpenter's workshop, he also ran a sawmill on the "old Saga", which fell victim to an avalanche in 1951. The reconstruction followed in the year after at the current location of the sawmill.

The third generation Tenisch Andreas and Markus, sons of Leopold, join the company after completing their apprenticeship and work there until their retirement. Andreas graduated from the master carpentry school on the Bürgenstock. Orders from the SBB and the federal government filled the order books for many years. This was followed by a move to interior finishing, furniture and restoration of old buildings.

The fourth generation Tenisch Paul, son of Andreas, started his apprenticeship as a carpenter in 1985. Until the death of Leopold Tenisch, three generations worked in the same business. Thomas Hilfiker, brother-in-law of Paul Tenisch has been working in the family business since 2006.

The fifth generation 2016 Benedict Tenisch, son of Paul Tenisch, completes his apprenticeship as a carpenter specializing in construction and windows.
