About Us

A family business based in Val d'Hérens since 1977 Mayor Bois SA is located just outside the village of Saint-Martin in central Valais, 15 km from Sion (about 25 minutes). It specializes in carpentry and joinery.

1930: the company was founded by Martin Mayor (1908 - 1980) and operated as a sawmill and joinery.
1977: the workshop is taken over by his son Jean-Maurice, carpenter and joiner, who concentrates exclusively on joinery work.
1980: He doubles the size of the workshop. The team numbers 2 to 3 employees for around 20 years.
1999: the carpentry division is created, with a new extension quadrupling the workshop's surface area.
2000: Jean-Maurice's son Bertrand joins the company after studying to become a timber construction technician in Biel. He takes over the reins in 2014.
2018: Jean-Maurice Mayor becomes Mayor Bois SA

The company now has around ten employees, including two apprentices, two timber construction technicians and a master joiner. The company is constantly evolving, and both premises and machinery are renewed and improved to ensure that production is always in the best possible condition.
