Wood is one of the most fascinating materials of nature. It is an important element in the eternal cycle of life. The primary advantage of wood is its property of independent reproducibility. Unlike all other natural products such as crude oil or coal, wood grows back. Moreover, wood can be 100% recycled.

The energetic advantage of wood can be illustrated very well with a comparison: While the production of one cubic meter of wall construction with clinker bricks requires approx. 1,700 kWh, or with reinforced concrete approx. 1,500 kWh, of primary energy, a wooden construction comparable in terms of insulation, at 150 kWh/m³, only accounts for around 10% of this value. In addition, wood as a material enjoys significant advantages in terms of building biology.

Every end product made of wood is as individual as its owner. Wood is also often referred to as a "warm and natural building material". And this is no coincidence. Wood is the ideal thermal insulation material - no other material can compete with it, or only with additional technical effort.

Please note that there are completely different price and quality levels for both laminate, wood flooring and parquet!

Laminate

Laminate is first of all the alternative to carpet- dust-free

• easy to install
• robust and abrasion resistant
• practically wear-free

repairs are mostly impossible. For touch-ups there are touch-up pens and repair pastes. The thicker the laminate flooring, the better the impact sound insulation. Because of its thinness, laminate requires an absolutely level subfloor and pressure-resistant impact sound insulation, and is also unsuitable for damp rooms.

Wood flooring

Wood flooring (real wood veneered flooring instead of decorative paper) has the ambience of wood and is almost the same:- abrasion resistant

• wear-free

Wooden floor can be sanded and repaired at least partially. Wooden floor has the coziness of wood and is:- warmer to the feet than laminate

• due to the thickness more impact sound absorbing

Parquet Parquet (from 2 mm wear layer) is, however, much more expensive than wooden flooring and laminate. But parquet has all the advantages of wood on its side, especially the ability to renovate. Renovability means that the floor can be sanded and resealed after decades of use (1-1.5 mm is lost). Decide whether you want to spend the extra price compared to wooden flooring for this.

The most durable floor of all is the oiled floor, because it can be partially refinished. Whether someone likes the silky elegance of lacquer or the naturalness of an oiled surface better, is a matter of taste and a little awareness of nature.
