What is Solid Surface?

Solid Surface is a solid, cast, non-porous material, composed mainly of a natural mineral and presented in the form of slabs and molded elements. Solid Surface elements are assembled seamlessly with a 2-component adhesive. The result is hygienic, easy-to-clean work surfaces. Solid Surface is composed of two-thirds bauxite (ATH aluminum trihydrate) and one-third acrylic polymers.

Why use Solid Surface?

It can be shaped like hardwood: sawn, milled, drilled, sanded and thermoformed. Being solid and homogeneous, it can be worked in three dimensions, offering planners and designers great freedom of conceptualization. Solid Surface is impact and acid-resistant. Even cigarette burns leave no lasting marks. It can be cleaned with an abrasive and is very easy to maintain, since it is non-porous and has no joints.

Solid Surface can be repaired: after years of heavy use, its surface can be sanded to bring it back to like-new condition. It is also possible to cut out a surface at a later date, or to fill voids with Solid Surface parts. These means of repair or transformation guarantee a very long product service life.
