On January 1, 1979, Kathrin Schüpbach and Hans Marti founded the sole proprietorship Schreinerei + Montagen in Kappel. In August 1981, they rented the disused Wüthrich joinery in Aarburg. In the following year, the first employee was hired. In 1984, the key service division was added. In 1990, the sales store "Schliesstechnik" was opened in Trimbach. Since then, the company name has been "Hans Marti Schreinerei & Schliesstechnik". For reasons of space, the carpentry workshop returned from Aarburg to Kappel in 1995. In 2008, the property was acquired. On January 1, 2009 the company celebrated its 30th anniversary. In this year also the change from a sole proprietorship to a limited company marti ag schreinerei & schliesstechnik took place. Today, the majority of the more than 20 employees work at the company headquarters in Kappel.

Thanks to many years of experience and presence on the market in the fields of carpentry and locking technology, the company has developed into a leading company with lean structures in the regional sector.
