The construction company Bogana Francesco Sagl was founded in 1963 by Mr. Amilcare Bogana. The company is family-owned and since 1989 the management has been continued by his son Francesco. It currently employs about ten workers and has a technical office and an architectural office within it. The firm is a member of the Swiss Association of Building Contractors, Graubünden Hinterrhein section, and the Swiss Wood Construction Association.
It operates in most cases in Val Calanca, where the firm is based, in Mesolcina and in Ticino.
Over the years, in addition to its interest in above- and below-structure construction work, it has especially delved into topics related to wood carpentry, wood roofing, and general roofing and poplar roofing.
As far as poplar roofing is concerned, the company has many years of experience and, in collaboration with the Office of Historical Monuments, has carried out significant work on private, municipal and parish churches, such as the Lugano Cathedral.

The construction company Bogana Francesco Sagl also offers expertise in the construction of wooden houses. The company can operate either as a contractor of the wooden structure alone or as a general contractor, thus starting from the preliminary studies, then moving on to the complete design phase, with the preparation of the cost estimate until the construction is ready for delivery.
Over the years, the firm has developed the best techniques to achieve a state-of-the-art final product in absolute compliance with good construction and SIA standards. It proposes materials and construction methodologies that can ensure the client guarantees in terms of static safety, living comfort and care for technical and aesthetic executive details, placing special emphasis on adequate thermal/acoustic insulation of the construction. Only high-quality materials are used, and as for the lumber, only selected, kiln-dried material is used according to the required standards.
According to the project, the wooden construction is prepared in its sectioning in the company's warehouse, carried out an initial assembly, following which it is numbered piece by piece and packed for subsequent transport to the construction site.
The advantage of this type of execution is that the construction can be put in place with load-bearing elements and tie-rods in such a way as to avoid interruptions as much as possible, effectively leading the building to have construction joints only in parts of the work that after the assembly of the various elements that make up the construction avoid the occurrence of any type problems:

- parts of the insulation that are not perfectly matched resulting in thermal bridging problems; - parts of the supporting structure not perfectly connected with the consequent danger of cracks on parts of the construction; - vapor barrier not airtight, damaged or imperfectly attached to various elements of the construction; - wind barrier not airtight, damaged or imperfectly attached to the various elements of the construction; - expansion joints not executed according to SIA standards; - incorrect window and door frame installation details.

In addition, the preparation and assembly times are fast and allow for a delivery schedule of the finished construction that is guaranteed as a timeline, thanks in part to in operating team of employees of absolute technical quality.
Depending on the needs of the client, wooden constructions can be built mainly with two types of construction: one called blockhaus and one framed with timber elements type DUO.

With the blockhaus type, the building is built with a load-bearing structure put in place with interlocking larch or fir lumber bi-lama type with tongue-and-groove joints. Processing of the exposed wood surface is done according to the buyers' wishes (planed, brushed, scratched, rough type, etc.). Mechanical fastening is done by screws and galvanized hardware. Inside, insulation is carried out in full compliance with energy calculations and relevant laws. Interior coverings are chosen by the clients: plasterboard with final stabilization or wood with beadboard or multilayer panels.

With the framed type, the execution of the structure is statically guaranteed; the presence of construction joints is limited to the strictly necessary, which avoids problems of subsequent movement and/or cracking on the claddings. Mechanical fastening of the elements is done with screws and galvanized elements. Again, special care is taken to insulate the building in full compliance with energy calculations and relevant laws.
With this type of construction, both interior (plasterboard with final stabilization or wood with beadboard or multilayer panels) and facade (wood beadboard, plaster or additional material) claddings can be chosen.

Wood constructions made with either construction type achieve a level of thermal insulation in line with the values of a Minergie masonry.

The construction company Bogana Francesco Sagl has developed in-house a special section concerning wooden carpentry, wooden roof carpentry and roofing with any material and in poplar. It offers expertise in both the installation of new carpentry and the rehabilitation of existing carpentry.
It has machinery for cutting and processing lumber so that it can operate in the industry independently and professionally.
Over the years, it has also specialized in the installation of poplar roofing; it actively collaborates with the Office of Historical Monuments and has been commissioned to carry out work of particular value such as the renovation and maintenance of the poplar roof of Lugano Cathedral.
In addition to private buildings, it has performed stone roofing on public buildings such as the clubhouse in Arvigo, the municipal house in Selma, the youth hostel in Santa Maria in Calanca, the patrician house in Castaneda and the Sasso Corbaro castle in Bellinzona.
Numerous parish churches are the subject of intervention by Impresa Bogana in terms of poplar roofing such as the church in Mesocco, Roveredo, San Vittore, Faido, Bodio, Cevio, Augio, Rossa, Selma and two churches in Arbedo.
