Company history

In 1986, when kitchens were still installed in closed rooms, Heinz Beck set out to establish a company. Together with his business partners at that time, he christened the company "B+U Joinery and Assembly". From the beginning, the Zellers manufactured their furniture in their own carpentry shop and assembled it for a clientele that grew steadily.

Four years later, when another wave of white overtook the color world of interior design, B+U also assembled in-house - the first kitchen exhibition on Luzernerstrasse immediately inspired builders for their future new buildings and conversions.

In 1992, the company had meanwhile been converted into a joint-stock company, and a branch office was opened in Wolhusen. Word of the excellent service quality had spread - with a second location, the kitchen specialists could now expand the consulting service. At this time, open kitchens increasingly found their way into new buildings.

In the new millennium, conversion and renovation activities became increasingly important in the construction industry. In 2004, Beck + Unternährer AG therefore installed the first lifting exhibition in Switzerland. Since then, the renovation specialists have been helping kitchens in the region to take on a new look.

In 2011, many kitchens are handleless. However, the arguments to trust the "Company Beck + Unternährer AG" are handleless. This is also recognized by the certification body DER KREIS and awards the two kitchen studios with the label "kuechenspezialisten".

2012: This year is considered another milestone in the company's history. Since June, the company is fully owned by the couple Heinz and Maya Beck-Unternährer. Together with the B+U team, both strive to continue to serve customers with the usual quality, comprehensive service and generous individual advice.

2015: Not only the time changes, also the lifestyles and demands of the clientele, as well as the materials. Thus, in the meantime, the design of the kitchen fronts is again increasingly determined by wood and many kitchens are mixed in color.

2016: The company Beck + Unternährer AG celebrates its 30th anniversary with various campaigns and activities. At the same time, the team is pleased to come up with new trends and technical innovations in the anniversary year. We consistently rely on laser technology for the seamless transition of edges. As well, our solid, robust kitchen furniture is characterized by stronger carcasses with 8mm thick back panels and 19mm thick shelves and sides. Thus we set new standards in quality and design.
